Surface quality:
The billets are supplied in as-cast condition. Billet surface shall be free from belts, breakout marks and cracks visible without magnifying devices. If required, the surface defects can be eliminated by the manual polishing machines. The depth of the conditioning shall not exceed the diameter tolerances.
Quality of billet ends:
The leakages of oxidized metal (resulting from CCM gas cutting) on the ends of billets are allowed. The billet ends shall be free from visible (without magnifying devices) shrinkage holes after CCM gas cutting.
Marking:
One billet end is market with a color identification code. The heat number and steel grade are specified on the billet side.
Packing:
The continuous cast 6-12 m long billets are packed into bundles of 4-10 ton each. Two plastic weather-proof tags (with thermal stamping) are attached to the bundles, specifying the customer, order number, steel grade, heat number, size, bundle number and a country of destination.
Color marking:
One billet end is market with a color identification code. The heat number and steel grade are specified on the billet side.
